Miss Lebanon Emigrant 2017, Amanda Hanna, has lost her title as winner of the beauty pageant just a week after winning it on August 14.
The Swedish-Lebanese beauty was stripped of her title after it was discovered that in 2016 she went on an academic tour in Israel, using her Swedish passport to enter the Jewish State.
A statement from The Festival of Lebanese Emigrants in Dhour Al Choueir to the Al Modon newspaper read, “After communicating our decision with Lebanon’s Minister of Tourism he decided that Hanna should be stripped of her title because her visit to Israel violates our country’s laws.”
Lebanese citizens are not allowed to travel to Israel, considered an “enemy state,” and Israelis are not allowed to enter Lebanon.

    DERRICK LEE / CREDIT: FACEBOOK

Last May 6, 2016, Critical Beauty published a report on pageant organizer Derrick Lee, who had been accused of consumer fraud by pocketing charity money, among other things.

Critical Beauty has recently received an update from Kimberly Holliday Triani who had initially launched the investigation on Lee's unethical business dealings. On her Facebook page, Triani posted the comprehensive update. With her permission, we are reposting it for our readers:

    Derrick Lee Scam Alert Update:

A JUDGEMENT HAS BEEN ENTERED AGAINST DERRICK LEE IN VIOLATION OF THE CONSUMER FRAUD ACT!!
I had always believed that the TRUTH would eventually come to light. For those of you not familiar with the situation, Derrick Lee of Team DQ Pageant Prep and Image Consulting was a director for the Illinois pageant of one of the world's top systems. In March 2015, he took it upon himself to host a photogenic competition as a fundraiser for Lurie Children's Hospital during which he raised thousands of dollars that was supposed to go to helping families of sick children.
The story was featured twice on CBS Channel 2 Chicago. ( http://chicago.cbslocal.com/…/2-investigators-pageant-orga…/ )
For almost two years Derrick Lee of Team DQ Pageant Prep and Image Consulting, (and according to his Facebook profile is an affiliate of Miss Globe US Pageant, Miss Latina World Pageant, Miss Bikini US Pageant, and American Model & Pageant Magazine) has defamed our family name and our family business. For the past two years Derrick Lee proclaimed his innocence and stated he never stole the money he collected for Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital and that I had fabricated this story because he didn't want to use our company as a sponsor again. On August 22, 2017 the TRUTH CAME TO LIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!
    LET'S SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT!
#1. Our business was NEVER going to do business with Derrick Lee again. We do not engage in business practices with ANY company or individual that does not uphold common core values including integrity, honesty, and compassion. Knowledge and understanding of the very most basic human values is of basic importance to any human in the world, to make TRULY responsible decisions, and to give a responsible direction to one's life; and also to give a truly responsible direction to the development of our children. Derrick Lee does not embody the core values that our family and/or our business lives by. Anyone that would steal from sick children has some major soul searching to engage in. It is also our belief that any company working with Derrick Lee with the knowledge of his activities is complicit in allowing his behavior.
ESPECIALLY IN THIS INDUSTRY IN WHICH WE ARE SUPPOSED TO TEACH OTHERS THE SPIRIT OF PHILANTHROPY AND THE POWER OF GIVING BACK!!!!!! THOSE ENGAGED IN CONSUMER FRAUD HAVE NO BUSINESS IN THIS INDUSTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Logistically speaking, we should also point out that Derrick Lee's contract was terminated with the aforementioned pageant system, so in reality there was no sponsorship for him to supposedly pull from us anyway.
#2. On August 22, 2017 a permanent injunction and restitution were ordered against Derrick Lee. In the judgement (which was signed by Derrick Lee)
    * Derrick Lee stipulates that he solicited and collected monies from members of the public as part of the Miss Photogenic Competition.
    * Derrick Lee stipulates that he solicited and collected these monies for the benefit of the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital.
    * Derrick Lee stipulates that he solicited and collected AT LEAST $3000.00 from members of the public during the Miss Photogenic Competition.
    * Thereby Derrick Lee was ordered to pay $3000.00 total in restitution to the Ann and Lurie Children's hospital.
    * Derrick Lee signed the agreement and has 5 months to pay back the money or may face criminal charges.
*** THIS IS NOW PART OF DERRICK LEE'S PERMANENT RECORD *** ALL OF WHICH IS PUBLIC RECORD
#3. INNOCENT people don't sign a document stipulating these facts and agree to pay back $3000 in damages to a hospital they didn't steal from.
Those are the facts surrounding the case of consumer fraud and deceptive business practices against Derrick Lee and how he engaged in practices against individuals in violation of the Consumer Fraud Act.
For a complete copy of the Judgement Entered Against Derrick Lee you may click on this Facebook link.

Triani told Critical Beauty, "He (Derrick Lee) has defamed my name for 2 years telling people I made up the charges.  Hearing that the state has ordered him to pay restitution and put a permanent injunction against him will help clear my name. More importantly, protect people from doing business with him."

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — Miss North Dakota, Cara Mund, who said President Donald Trump was wrong to pull the United States out of the Paris climate accord, was named Miss America 2018 Sunday night in Atlantic City.

Mund, 23, topped a field of 51 contestants to win the crown in the New Jersey seaside resort, where most of the 97 Miss Americas have been selected.

In one of her onstage interviews, Mund said Trump, a Republican, was wrong to withdraw the United States from the climate accord aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global warming.

"It's a bad decision," she said. "There is evidence that climate change is existing, and we need to be at that table."

In an interview with The Associated Press before preliminary competition began, Mund, who lives in Bismarck, North Dakota, said her goal is to be the first woman elected governor of her state.
She said she wants to see more women elected to all levels of government.
"It's important to have a woman's perspective," Mund, who had an internship in the U.S. Senate, told the AP. "In health care and on reproductive rights, it's predominantly men making those decisions."
An Ivy League graduate from Brown University who is headed to law school, Mund went to high school with Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz.
"I said, 'If Carson Wentz can do it, Miss North Dakota Cara Mund can become Miss America,'" she said after winning the title.
She is the first contestant from her state to win the Miss America crown.
Trump also figured in another question asked of a finalist onstage. Miss Missouri Jennifer Davis, who was first runner-up, was asked whether Trump's presidential campaign colluded with Russia last year.
She said she doesn't think enough information has been revealed to support such a charge.
"We should investigate it to its fullest extent, and if we do find evidence, the justice system should do their due diligence," she said.
The second runner-up was Miss New Jersey Kaitlyn Schoeffel, third runner-up was Miss District of Columbia Briana Kinsey and fourth runner up was Miss Texas Margana Wood.
Earlier Sunday, as a deadly hurricane was slamming her home state, Miss Florida Sara Zeng sent a message of support to those in harm's way — and was then eliminated.
As judges were narrowing the field of 51 contestants (each state plus the District of Columbia), they interviewed Zeng, 22, of Palm Coast, who noted that her family was safe.
But she expressed concern and support for friends and strangers endangered by Hurricane Irma, which was tearing its way up the Florida gulf coast on Sunday.
"I'm thinking about everyone in Florida every single day, but I know that regardless what happens, we'll all get through this together," Zeng said.
Zeng won Friday's swimsuit preliminary and promised that she'd be part of the post-Irma cleanup and recovery effort, whether as Miss America or not.

Itir Esen, center, is crowned as Miss Turkey World in Istanbul, Turkey, on Sept. 21, 2017.

     Photographer: Emrah Yorulmaz/Anadolu Agency/Getty Images

Ankara, Turkey (AP) -- Organizers have stripped Miss Turkey 2017 of her crown over a social media posting that was deemed insulting to the memory of the 250 people killed while opposing last year's failed military coup.
Miss Turkey organizers said the 18-year-old Itir Esen was dethroned on Friday, a day after she won the contest and the right to represent Turkey at the Miss World contest in China. The organizers said in an emailed statement that her title was revoked because of a tweet in July that they described as "unacceptable."
Runner-up Asli Sumen will now represent Turkey in China.
Media reports said Esen, a model and university student, caused a storm on social media after she posted a remark on Twitter as the country held memorials for the victims on the first anniversary of the July 15, 2016 coup attempt.
    ASSOCIATED PRESS
According to Sozcu newspaper and other media the tweet, which has since been erased, said: "I got my period on the morning of the July 15 martyrs' day. I'm marking the day by bleeding as a representation of the martyrs' blood."
Esen reportedly denied the account was hers. But Can Sandikcioglu, who heads the Miss Turkey Organization, said the committee said it confirmed she was the author of the tweet.
"We are sad to announce that we have reached the conclusion that the tweet was posted by Itir Esen," the organization quoted Sandikcioglu as saying. "It is not possible for the Miss Turkey Organization, whose aim is to promote Turkey worldwide and to contribute to its image, to accept such a posting."
The organization said the tweet came to their attention after the competition and that it took them "hours" to determine that was Esen's.
