A Brisbane beauty who said she was “the chubby loser kid at school” has been crowned Miss World Australia.
Courtney Thorpe, 24, a model, stylist and fashion editor, won the title at a crowning ceremony in Hunter Valley last night.
She told Confidential: “It feels amazing. I’m still overwhelmed. I don’t think it’s hit me yet.”
But Thorpe said she was not always a beauty queen.
The first runner-up was Alex Hecker and the second runner-up was Laura Jane Corker.
