Giuseppe Borrillo, the director of the Miss Progress International (MPI) pageant, released a statement confirming the dates and venue of the 2015 competition. The 3rd edition of MPI will take place in Puglia, Italy again from May 8 to 17, 2015. Over 50 young women are expected to compete. The event is produced by Associazione Culturale IN PROGRESS.
The first pageant was held on September 24, 2010 in Taranto, Italy and was won by Tanzania's Julieth William Lugembe. According to the official website, the pageant aims to give women around the world the "role of Ambassador of Progress in full compliance with each one’s culture, traditions and religion." It The pageant claims that it is the first pageant dedicated to promoting the integration of cultures, health, environment and human rights. Thus, the jury selects four winners for each of these categories plus the main winner: Miss Progress International (the main title) and four subsidiary titles - Miss Progress Integration of Cultures, Miss Progress Health, Miss Progress Environment and Miss Progress Human Rights.
