Daryanne Lees, 27, representing Cuba, was crowned Miss Grand International 2014 at the Indoor Stadium Huamark, in Bangkok, Thailand. A pageant veteran, Lees was born in Puerto Rico and had competed in Miss Universe Puerto Rico, Miss World Puerto Rico, and Miss Puerto Rico Teen. One of her parents is Cuban. She moved to Florida and competed in Miss Florida USA 2009 where she placed 2nd runner-up. Lees had been selected by Noemi Melendez, the national organizer for Miss Grand Cuba, to represent her family's native homeland.
Lees' court includes (L-R): 3rd runner-up Renera Thompson of Australia, 1st runner-up Hiwot Mamo of Ethiopia, 2nd runner-up Kathryn Kohut of Canada and 4th runner-up Monica Castaño Agudelo of Colombia. The delegates from Haiti, Poland, Thailand, Russia and Indonesia made the Top 10. The remaining Top 20 delegates came from Mexico, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Puerto Rico, Sri Lanka, Israel, Brazil, Venezuela, Japan and Peru.
