Heilymar Rosario of Puerto Rico was crowned Miss Intercontinental 2016 on October 16 at Stein Studios in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Her court includes 1st runner-up Tracy De Zilva of Sri Lanka, 2nd runner-up Silvia Commodore of Ghana, 3rd runner-up Fioriana Russo of Italy and 4th runner-up Amal Nemer of Venezuela. Each of the five finalist also won a continental queen title.
Completing the top 15 are the delegates from China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Scotland, Philippines, Poland, Czech Republic, Seychelles, Thailand and the Ukraine.
Rosario's win marks Puerto Rico's third Miss Intercontinental crown. Elizabeth Robison first won in 1986 and then Maydelise Columna in 2010.
