Exactly 40 years ago today, July 21, 1973, Margarita Moran of the Philippines was crowned Miss Universe 1973 at the Herod Atticus Theatre in Athens, Greece. Margarita became the second woman from her country to win the coveted title (Gloria Diaz was the first in 1969).
